  Story The story takes visitors back to the year 1821, at the openingsball of Baquetting Hall, organized by the 15 th count of Shrewsbury. Amongst all this nobility and royalty, an old man appeared, to recruit an overnight stay by explaining their fate. Scroffed and driven off by the guests, the man turned to the host and said: “Every time a branch from the great oaktree falls upon your entrance, a member of your family will fall and die“. The next day, the count had all branches secured by chains. Proved by research, this is a true legend that is inextricably connected to Alton Towers and Alton village. However, the story is sort of enlengthend to suit Hex better, so the story of an old woman that begs for money, and the results of not giving alms. |
